Prof. Edita Claridad Bayona is a graduate of Executive Doctorate in Leadership major in Business in the University of Makati. She has been in the University of Makati since July, 1986 up to the present and has occupied different administrative and academic positions from Instructor, Associate Professor and to her current position as Professor II, Dean of the College of Business and Financial Science during the Academic Year 2016-2017, Chairperson of Tourism Management and Marketing Management, Coordinator of DUES Programs, College Secretary under the College of Business Administration and Program Director of School of Continuing Professional Education also in University of Makati.
Prof. Bayona has also been a Consultant and Part-time Business Lecturer of American Hospitality Academy, a partner of University of Makati under the area of Tourism and Hospitality Management and was also appointed as their TESDA Coordinator. Her greatest accomplishment in UMak was being one of founders of the University of Makati Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative. Currently, she is the Chairperson of UMak Coop and has been elected to that position since February, 2017. Prior to the establishment of UMak Coop, her experience as member of the Board of Directors of San Jose Water Service Development Cooperative, a community based cooperative engaged in providing banking services and potable water to different barangays in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite has contributed a lot in her expertise in the field of Cooperative in the Philippines. She served as their financial analyst until her employment in University of Makati.
Another service milestone that she extended to the community was when, upon the recommendation of Prof. Tomas B. Lopez, the then President of UMak, she was appointed as a Lecturer of ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation, an organization in-charge in conducting Training Programs on Grassroots Entrepreneurship in different communities in the Philippines, an affiliate of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Network.
