A Heron Alumni Love Story

Graduated in 2009, the Bachelor in Integrated Arts major in Broadcast Arts alumni, Jan Michael Caisip and Krizelle Bien, after 18 years of relationship, are now ready to tie the knot.

The two are classmates in the Center for Performing and Digital Arts (now Institute of Arts and Design). “She was one of the boys, walang arte, super cute tapos rakista. Yes, rakista, bilang ‘emo generation’ kami”. Caisip’s classroom crush turned out to be “the one” – from their daily commutes to the University of Makati (UMak) and weekend project collaborations to completing their thesis together, their bond has grown stronger, leading them to this exciting next chapter.

“UMak holds a special place in our relationship as this is where we met and found not just love but, friendship that lasts a lifetime. We hope to capture similar moments as we move to this next step in our journey together as a couple” the couple explained, sharing why they’ve chosen UMak as the location for their pre-nuptial photoshoot.

Reflecting on their pre-nuptial photoshoot, the couple described their emotions as a blend of nostalgia and novelty. “Ang laki ng pinagbago ng UMak. From the new buildings, facilities, pati uniform bago! But some things never change, may mga magjowa rin similar to us na nag-aantayan sa entrance, nakatambay sa canteen, may bagong tambayan na bleachers sa oval. We wish we had that!”

“UMak fosters not just good education but, also relationships and love that lasts a lifetime.” Today, Jan Michael works as a supervisor in a professional services company, while Krizelle continues to thrive in the insurance and HR management industry.
