Innovate, Integrate, Inform! CDPRM’s Initiative to Promote Awareness on Cyber Security and Data Privacy Continues
The Center for Data Privacy and Records Management (CDPRM) hosted a seminar focused on Data Privacy and Intellectual Property which brought students, faculty, and industry professionals together to delve into the pressing topics last September 11.
Two renowned experts in their respective fields, CDPRM Director Pio Jagurin and Atty. Dario Aguila from Branch 9 of the Regional Trial Court gave insightful talks.
Asst. Prof. Jagurin provided a comprehensive overview of intellectual property, patent rights, copyright laws, and the establishment of the Innovative Technology Support Office at the University of Makati.
Meanwhile, Atty. Aguila, shed light on the intricacies of the Data Privacy Act. His approach made the complex legal concepts accessible to all attendees especially the risks and contexts stakeholders commonly face.
The seminar offered participants valuable insights and practical knowledge, highlighting UMak’s commitment to cultivating a culture of data privacy and intellectual property protection.
The event is part of the University’s celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
