ION Lecturer receives Anastacia Giron-Tupas (AGT) Award for 2024

The Institute of Nursing (ION) Professorial Lecturer, Dr. Annabelle Borromeo received the prestigious Anastacia Giron-Tupas (AGT) Award for 2024, the highest honor bestowed by the Philippine Nurses Association.

The award recognized Dr. Borromeo’s unwavering commitment in advancing the nursing profession in the Philippines. Her leadership, both within the academe and the broader healthcare community, served as an inspiration to aspiring nurses and seasoned colleagues alike.

As one of the founders of ION (former College of Nursing) in 2003, she played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Filipino nurses. Her influence extends far beyond the walls of the academe, with significant contributions to the clinical field and healthcare leadership. Notably, she is a Board Member and Chief Nursing Officer of Metro Pacific Health and former Senior Vice President of St. Luke’s Medical Center Quezon City.

Beyond Borromeo’s impressive résumé, the lecturer exemplifies remarkable humility and unwavering courage as she navigates the complexities of the nursing profession. Her commitment to patient care and advocacy has earned her a reputation as a modern-day “Joan of Arc” within the field. With a blend of charm and excellence, she approaches every challenge with grace and determination, making her a true beacon of resilience in healthcare.

Borromeo joined the roster of more than 50 exceptional AGT awardees since 1975.
