In celebration of their 19th anniversary, the Collective Arts of Students and Thespians (CAST) officially opened the stage for the comeback of Romeo@Juliet v2.0.24 at the University of Makati Performing Arts Theater (UPAT) this September 2024. The show is a 21st Century Filipino adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic love story, “Romeo and Juliet.”

From the direction of Prof. Romualdo M. Protacio, in collaboration with the Center of Culture and the Arts (CCA) and UMak Technical Production and Creatives (UTPC), CAST Productions brings back the timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet (RAJ) integrated with contemporary themes of teenage love, family rivalry, and tragedy.

Romeo@Juliet v. 2.0.24 21st century adaptation is written by Wilfredo N. Uriarte Jr. UMak Alumnus. He fused English, Filipino, and Gay lingo in the play adaptation to hook the millennials and Gen Zs’ taste in shows. On the first show of Raj, about a hundred people attended to witness the play. RAJ runs from September 11 to 14 and September 17 to 21, 2024, scheduled at 10 AM, 2 PM, and 6 PM at UPAT. Tickets are available online for early booking and onsite payment on the show date with price rates of ₱50.00 for UMak students and ₱200.00 for non-UMak students, alumni, and outside guests.
