CHED AND MARINA RECOGNIZE UMAK MARITIME SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The University of Makati’s College of Maritime Leadership Innovation finally obtained recognition from the Commission on Higher Education for its Bachelor’s Degrees in Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation.  Both programs exceed the standards for instruction, assessment, and shipboard training jointly set by the Commission and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).

The privilege of educating young Filipinos was a task Prof. Tomas B. Lopez took to heart. Serving a city in which governance meant bringing progress to its citizens, his 19 years of leadership at the University of Makati embodied the same sense of innovation and the same value of placing constituents at the center of leadership. In almost two decades, he has proven that when we embrace innovation in education, when we create an environment where our students are enabled to prosper, then we truly fulfill the promise of education in the development of nations.

UMak’s Industry Partners Program expands to South Asia

The University of Makati signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Medipass, Ltd and Asian Touch International last May 31, 2018 at Tokyo, Japan which expanded the Industry Partners Program into South Asia. The partnership will provide for deployment of interns to health care facilities and hotels all over Japan.

University President Prof. Tomas B. Lopez Jr. led the UMak delegation composed of Vice President for Academic Affairs Elyxzur Ramos, Ph.D., University Secretary Atty. Jewel Bulos and College of Tourism and Hospitality Management Dean Anna Sancho.

UMAK COAHS CONTINUES HIGH LICENSURE EXAMS PASSING RATE PERFORMANCE

The College of Allied Health Studies (COAHS) Centers for Nursing and Radiologic Technology continues its consistent outstanding performance in the licensure exams as shown in the recent results posted by the Professional Regulatory Commission this June and July, respectively. Graduates from COAHS’ Center for Nursing attained a 75 percent passing rate, higher than the national average passing rate of 43.82 percent. First-time takers from the Center of Nursing attained a 100 percent passing rate in the June 2018 Nursing Licensure Exams.

COAHS PHARMACY GRADUATES OBTAIN 92.86% PASSING RATE IN AUGUST LICENSURE EXAMS

Twenty-six graduates from the Pharmacy program of the College of Allied Health Studies passed the August 2018 Pharmacy Licensure Examinations, obtaining a passing rate  of 92.85 percent for University of Makati – higher than the national passing rate of 69.196%. For the third consecutive year, pharmacy graduates from the University of Makati have performed higher than the national average. 

The Center for Pharmacy was established in 2012 and offers an Associate Program on Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with Pharmaceutical Marketing.

UMak School of Law Announces Second Batch of Scholars

Strengthening its commitment to provide quality legal education to Filipinos, the University of Makati School of Law currently announced its second batch of scholars for Academic Year 2018-2019. For its second year, the School of Law expanded their scholarship program as they added a second category of scholarship. The 2018-2019 batch will extend Full Scholarship to 27 qualified individuals, all of them receiving full scholarship benefits which include free tuition and miscellaneous fees, a monthly stipend of PhP 10,000 pesos and a semestral book allowace of PhP 10,000.
