One of the most significant legacies of the late President, Professor Tomas B. Lopez, Jr, is the Industry Partners Recognition Day (IPRD).  Even with his passing, UMak continues to honor this yearly event and fittingly so on November 24, 2021 – his birthday.

Filipinos are known to be resilient but the year 2020 brought a different dimension to hardship, not just for Filipinos but for almost everyone around the world because of the global pandemic. The unprecedented health crisis changed people’s lives overnight as restrictions and protocols gave rise to the so-called “new normal,” testing the limits of Pinoy resilience.

Congratulations, once again, to these CAL Film students for their film, "Balikbayan" which made it to the 10 official entries of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival Short Film.

The film will be screened at upstream.ph on December 25, 2020.
