UMak.edu.ph, One of the Leading Local University Websites in the Ranking Web of Universities in the Philippines

According to the Ranking Web of Universities, umak.edu.ph is among Metro Manila’s top Local Universities and Colleges (LUC) websites.

The UMak’s website, umak.edu.ph ranked 151st in the Philippines and was one of the only four LUCs in the National Capital Region to be included.

University websites worldwide were ranked based on several criteria such as the “impact ranking”, the available information online, and the number of citations and interactions of research outputs; “openness ranking”, the number of available research outputs and open access policies; and “excellence rank” which revolves around the research performance of the University.

In the country, UMak.edu.ph is ranked 101st in Openness Rank, 163rd in Impact Rank, and 183rd in Excellence Rank.

Other LUCs in the list include Pamantasan ng Lungod ng Maynila (rank 78), the City of Malabon University (rank 301), and the University of Caloocan City (rank 308). Meanwhile, De La Salle University ranks 1st in the country, followed by the University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University.

The UMak website has undergone several developments, it was initially conceptualized in 2008 and launched in 2010 by the Center for Information Technology. After a series of proposals were developed and submitted for approval in 2017, the website was finally redesigned in 2022 and launched in 2023 by the Center for Integrated Communications.

The Cybermetrics Lab compiles the Webometrics Rankings of World Universities at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Spain’s largest public research institution.
