UMak’s CITE takes center stage at EduTech Asia with groundbreaking Learning Models
More than 8,000 international education stakeholders, from students, education partners, and school leaders to ministers of education talked about the latest innovations in teaching and learning EduTech Asia 2024 held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay, Singapore on November 5 to 8, 2024.
Alongside over 400 other speakers, the University of Makati (UMak) was represented by the College of Innovative Teacher Education (CITE) Dean, Assoc. Prof. Jayson Bergania; College Secretary Assoc. Prof. Angelyn Pangilinan; and CITE-Higher School ng UMak Principal Assoc. Prof. Laarni Evelyn Santiago.
The CITE Dean joined the University of Sto. Tomas Vice Rector Cheryl Peralta, Universitas Pelita Harapan in Indonesia Teaching and Learning Director Rijanto Purbojo, and Kasetsart University in Thailand Assistant Dean Watsatree Diteeyong in the panel discussion titled “SYNC OR SWIM: Navigating Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning in Higher Education” which provided substantial and valuable exchanges on effective strategies for online and hybrid learning.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bergania presented the CITE’s E.X.C.I.T.E.D. Instructional Model, which emphasizes guided teaching and learning. He highlighted initiatives from UMak’s Senior High Laboratory School, underscoring the importance of student-centered, active learning approaches that ensure consistent engagement among learners during the 2nd day of the event.
The event also featured over 200 leading global tech companies including Google, Lenovo, and Acer, which showcased their latest contributions to the education sector.
EduTech Asia is Asia’s largest conference and exhibition for educators and EdTechs.
