Human Resource Management Office

The Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) is the University of Makati’s primary arm in managing employee-related resources. It is in charge of providing employee development and engagement programs that would ensure a productive and meaningful stay in the university. HRMO is also responsible for developing, putting into effect, and overseeing policy implementation and compliance for a healthy working environment, efficient workforce, effective service, and productive workforce. In so doing, the HRMO manages not only its people but the organization’s image in order to attract the right talent.

We envision the University of Makati Human Resource Management Office as an employer of choice by attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse, well-qualified, innovative and result-oriented workforce.

Mission

To achieve its vision, the Human Resource Management Office shall be the model for high quality, responsive, and customer-focused service. It shall develop and implement proactive and simplified processes, and support programs that add value to the University and its employees leading to improved employee welfare, empowerment, growth and retention, while remaining committed to the University’s goals, values, and strategies.

The Recruitment and Placement Section:

Facilitates posting of job vacancies.
Establishes comprehensive recruitment and selection of applicants.
Maintains a database of qualified candidates for future reference (short – listing).
Acts as Secretariat to the Personnel Selection Board.
Facilitates processing of appointments.
Provides for personnel placement to all offices of the University.

The Records and Monitoring Section:

Manages personnel information and documentation (201 File).
Monitors personnel work attendance.
Monitors leave credits.
Computes the number of actual teaching hours of faculty every 15th and 30th of the month for their honorarium payroll.
Issues Service Records, Certificate of Employment, etc.
Provides relevant information to management as regards possible promotion and/or personnel action for/or against employee/s concerned.
Facilitates daily processing of leave applications of regular and casual employees.
Records Leave of Absences, Maternity Leaves, Sabbatical/Study Leave and Compensatory Time – Off of UMak Employees.

The Compensation and Benefits Section:

Keeps track of all UMak payrolls.
Provides assistance as regards all concerns pertaining to PHILHEALTH, PAG – IBIG, GSIS, etc.
Conducts visitation/assistance to employees for processing of employee benefits.

About the Office Head

Ms. Juvy Bibonia Hermosura, was born on September 15, 1968 in Nabua, Camarines Sur and is married to Ssgt Marcelino Hermosura.

She took her primary and secondary education in Angustia Elementary School and St. Jude Agro-Industrial College respectively where she was a consistent Valedictorian. She studied AB Political Science at Bicol University, Legaspi City where she graduated Cum Laude in 1989. She took her Masters in Public Administration at University of Makati, Makati City and is academically completed on her Doctor in Public Administration (DPA) program. She is with UMak for 26 years now.

Presently, she is designated Head of the Human Resource Management Office. In her two and a half years of stay in the HRMO, she was able to craft several policies aimed at ensuring a healthy work environment and productive workforce. Prior to her designation as HR head, she was the Director of the OJT and Placement Services Center of UMak where she holds the position for eight (8) years. Her previous position as OPSC Director is strategic in attaining the University’s objective for its graduates which is 100% employability of graduates three (3) months after graduation. Ms. Hermosura has been active in establishing linkages with the industry not only for internship and employment opportunities but for curriculum development as well. Right now, University of Makati is proud to have 500 industry partners of different modalities and her office has contributed a lot for its success.

Aside from her exemplary work performance, Ms. Hermosura has been a member of different Committees in the university and is the Board Secretary of the University’s employees cooperative for twelve (12) years now.
