We have strong partnerships with the industry, which is very UMak, along the areas of community, hospital, industrial, institutional, public health and regulatory pharmacy. Though relatively young as a program, we have a very dynamic student body and leadership; functional alumni society, dedicated and committed faculty members.

Welcome to the Institute of Pharmacy

The Institute of Pharmacy offers the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Program which was officially approved as a degree program on February 10, 2012 by virtue of the Board Resolution No. 2012-029. The program is anchored on the quality principle “Fitness for purpose” as the design addresses the needs of the industry it serves in the context of a local university in a premiere city at the National Capital Region. It is a 4-year professional program but with exit points at 2nd year which is the Associate of Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology, graduates can work as pharmacy assistants; at 3rd year- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Marketing, graduates can work as industry associates, at 4th year, the terminal degree Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, which is licensure-driven.

During these 10 years of its existence at the University We have conducted researches as evidences along the achievement of our program learning outcomes, embodiment of core values, total quality education, in addition to objective measures provided and set by relevant offices in the local university and external accreditation body, as part of a quality assurance mechanism.

During these years, the University of Makati was recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission as a top performing school twice based on the Pharmacist licensure exam performance in 2019 and 2021. Our OVERALL performance rating in the said licensure examination since 2016 is always between 90 and 100%.
