Historian Dr. Ambeth Ocampo Discussed History in the “Cabinet of Curiosities”
19 Aug 2024- Acclaimed historian and author Dr. Ambeth R. Ocampo presents “Cabinet of Curiosities” at the UMak Performing Arts Theater. He tackled the importance of history and its deep connection with our culture when he presented his latest publication, Cabinet of Curiosities: History from Philippine Artifacts, at the University of Makati Performing Arts Theater, organized by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
UMak Delivers Hatid-Tulong Program to Tumana, Marikina City
9 Aug 2024 – The University of Makati went to Barangay Tumana, Marikina City on August 9 for their Hatid Tulong Program in coordination with all student organizations, alongside the Center for Community Extension Development (CCED), Center for Inclusive Education – Gender and Development (CIE-GAD), and UMak volunteers.
Dr. Elyxzur C. Ramos’ Investiture as the 10th President of the University of Makati
31 Jul 2024 – The University of Makati officially vested Prof. Elyxur Ramos as its 10th President in a presidential investiture held at the UMak Performing Arts Theater on July 31, 2024. Various officials from different higher educational institutions and local governments attended the ceremony. Notable attendees were Hon. Thai-Phil Film Directors and Producers Dialogue
20 Sep 2024 – As the university commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Thailand-Phillipines diplomatic relations, multimedia arts students had a golden opportunity to engage in a dialogue with the Thai Directors of internationally acclaimed and locally respected films on September 20, 2024, at the UMak Auditorium.
Financial Literacy Program Launched at the University of Makati with the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation
22 Aug 2024 – The University of Makati and Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation Inc. collaborated on August 22, 2024, to educate the students about financial management, including income, budgeting, sharing, and more. They also provide financial services and launched their most comprehensive FinLit module, #LahatKasama National Financial Literacy Caravan, to better equip the students with financial proficiency.
School of Law Batch Invictus Bar Salubong 2024
16 Sept 2024 – UMak School of Law, examinees’ families, and colleagues greeted the 22 Heron Barristers back at the University of Makati as they finished their 2024 Bar Examinations, marking the start of Salubong 2024 to Batch Invictus.
CAST Brings Back ‘Romeo@Juliet V2.0.24’ on UMak Stage
21 Sep 2024 – In celebration of their 19th anniversary, the Collective Arts of Students and Thespians (CAST) officially opened the stage for the comeback of Romeo@Juliet v2.0.24 at the University of Makati Performing Arts Theater (UPAT) this September 2024. The show is a 21st Century Filipino adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic love story, “Romeo and Juliet.”
UMak Re-opens its Newly-renovated Performing Arts Theater
06 Jun 2024 – The newly renovated Grand Theater, now called the UMak Performing Arts Theater, celebrated its grand reopening and blessing with a dynamic display of talent, featuring performances by the Collective Arts of Student Thespians (CAST), UMak Jammers, UMak Chorale, and UMak Dance Extreme (UDX) from the Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA).
52nd Anniversary of Martial Law Commemoration at the University of Makati
23 Sep 2024 – In commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of Martial Law, the Political Science Society (PSS) hosted a lecture featuring Atty. Luke Espiritu of Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino, Assistant Prof. Duke Thomas Dolorical of the CGPP Office, and Mr. Karl Patrick Suyat of Project Gunita. The Martial Law @52 aimed to educate students on the dark chapters of the Marcos regime and its aftermath, emphasizing the crucial lessons Filipinos must carry forward from this historical period.
