The Institute of Nursing offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing. A program which addresses the demands of the global world for employment in various ways.
As it makes its graduates fully competent in delivering standard and quality nursing care, it also trains its students to be abreast with expanded nursing career roles such as nurse-entrepreneur, nurse-educator, and others. Seasoned, well-experienced, and innovative faculty members from the industry are also tapped to mentor and educate students, inculcating theory, updates, and values. Affiliations include the city-managed Ospital ng Makati, as base hospital, together with private institutions like Medical Center Taguig and Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
ION envisions itself to become one of the leaders in nursing education by achieving a Center of Excellence status by year 2030 and bear international accreditation by year 2033 thereby becoming a top of mind provider of quality nursing education.

About Institute Dean
Associate Professor Enrico S. Santos holds a Doctor of Science in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, a Master of Public Health, a Master of Arts in Nursing, and a Post-Doctoral Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, driving advancements in healthcare and education both locally and internationally.
With a solid background in public health, he has led initiatives in disease prevention, operational research, disaster preparedness, and emergency medical services. Assoc. Prof. Santos was the first Director of the Technology-Based Learning Hub of UMak which was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His prior experience with Learning Management Systems like Moodle was instrumental in transitioning allied health education to an online format. He has held various leadership roles, including Director of Special Programs for Allied Health Sciences and Executive Director for Graduate Programs and Research.
Assoc. Prof. Santos is a prominent healthcare leader, educator, and researcher specializing in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), Public Health, and Strategic Leadership.
As a CAM practitioner, he is proficient in therapies such as spine manipulation, acupuncture, and therapeutic massage. He founded Guashang Pinoy – Guasha Philippines, which developed tools like the Carabao Horn Massager, and his research on Guasha Therapy’s clinical efficacy has been published internationally.
He is also a sought-after speaker on various topics. He has presented on CAM, public health, and wellness at international conferences. He significantly influences healthcare education as the college dean.

Assistant Professor Rosalie I. Catanghal is a dedicated and passionate nursing professional with an accomplished background in both healthcare and academia. Pursuing a Doctor of Education with a specialization in Innovative Educational Management, she’s an integral part of the Philippine Nurse Association Zone 5 and has served as a Board of Director member and Secretary from 2015 to 2017.
With over 10 years of teaching experience after transitioning from a public hospital setting, she has showcased exceptional leadership skills during her decade-long tenure in various management positions.
Recognized for her exceptional teaching practices, strategies, and innovations at institutions such as Far Eastern University, Manila Tytana College, and Global Innovative College, she contributes to advancing scholarly initiatives as an associate member of the National Research Council of the Philippines.
Her commitment to community service as a Tribal Nurse Missionary for Drops of Faith Christian Missions since 1999 reflects her dedication to others’ well-being.
Additionally, she actively participates in community extension projects, embodying a strong sense of social responsibility. A pastor’s wife and a mother to three academically accomplished children. A recipient of the 5th Jollibee Family Values Award for dedication to uplifting the lives of the Mangyan tribe in Occidental Mindoro, her unwavering dedication and contribution make her an invaluable asset to both the nursing profession and the community, remaining steadfast in her purpose of serving others and stewarding the blessings bestowed upon her by God.

Assistant Professor Josephine Robinos is a dedicated nursing educator with a strong academic background and extensive healthcare experience. Advancing her education, she obtained a Master of Arts in Nursing with a major in Nursing Administration, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Innovative Educational Management. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas.
Her commitment to nursing education is evident in her teaching expertise, which includes Medical-Surgical Nursing, Nursing Research, Care of the Mother and Child, Theoretical Foundations of Nursing, and Fundamentals of Nursing Practice. Asst. Prof. Robinos has held various academic positions, including Related Learning Experience Chair at the College of Allied Health Studies (COAHS) – Center of Nursing (now Institute of Nursing) and Program Head for COAHS Graduate and New Programs.
In addition to her academic roles, she actively participates in voluntary work and civic organizations, serving as an organizer, donor, and educator. She has engaged in numerous professional development programs focused on innovative teaching strategies and the evolving landscape of nursing education. She has received nominations, awards and recognitions in teaching. A consistent member of professional organizations and a former board member of the Philippine Nurses Association. Her unwavering passion for nursing and education inspires her students and colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and dedication within the nursing community.

Associate Professor Leni Domingo is a dedicated and accomplished professor with over 15 years of experience in nursing education, specializing as a Professor and Clinical Instructor in Medical-Surgical and Maternal-Child Nursing. With a doctorate in Educational Management and a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing, she has made a substantial impact on improving the quality of nursing education.
She plays a key role in managing and leading the Related Learning Experience at the Institute of Nursing. As Program Director, Assoc. Prof. Domingo oversees the coordination of clinical placements, designs and implements curriculum-based hands-on learning opportunities, and ensures nursing students develop the practical skills necessary for professional success.
As a Clinical Instructor, she is known for her student-centered approach, helping future nurses bridge the gap between theory and practice through critical thinking and evidence-based learning.
Assoc. Prof. Domingo was commissioned as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Nurse Corps of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Command and is currently the Chief Nurse of the 1st Technical and Administrative Service Brigade, NCR (Reserve). She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Philippine Nurses Association, the Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines, the Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines, and Rescue Recom 1, Philippines, Inc. She is also a member of the Philippine Society of NSTP Educators and Implementors, Inc. She has published research on the “Awareness, Attitude, and Extent of Practice of MDR-Tuberculosis Patients: Basis for an Action Plan”.
