Cooperate to Elevate!

UMak and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) have recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement that is geared towards improving the education and training of cooperatives in the country.

CDA is a government agency created to promote the viability and growth of cooperatives in the country and with a mandate to establish linkages with the academe and other institutions, local and international, for the education, training, and research for cooperatives, among others.

This agreement will spearhead the development of Course Modules for the Mandatory Training for cooperatives. Both parties plan to develop academic programs with specialization in Cooperative that will be part of the courses being offered by the University of Makati.

Present during the ceremonial signing were the Chairperson of CDA, Mr. Joseph Encabo, along with Assistant Secretary Abdulsalam Guinomla who heads the Education, Advocacy, and Union Cooperatives Cluster, and members of the partner agency. The University of Makati was represented by its President, Prof. Elyxzur Ramos, who was joined by the Vice President for Finance, Engr. Ivan Moro, the University Secretary, Ms. Juvy Hermosura, and the Chairperson of the UMak Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative Board of Directors, Dean Edita Bayona.
