Guilin University of Technology visits UMak
23 April 2024 – Visitors from Guilin University of Technology, Mr. Quan Kelin and Mr. Mo Wensheng accompanied by Dr. James Liao Yong of Philippine Christian University, came to UMak to further discuss partnership endeavors.
The university Vice Presidents, Atty. Jewel Bulos and Mr. Virgilio Tabbu introduced the school’s background and the college deans. Then, the guests presented an introductory video of their university.
They talked through the scopes of their possible joint ventures in teacher training programs, student exchange and other relevant curriculums. Mr. Kelin also explained the customized programs for their foreign students and offered vocational studies.
College of Innovative Teacher Education Dean, Prof. Jayson Bergania implied the current limitations of the university in terms of internationalization. He then suggested other possibilities of the future collaboration.
Institute of Technical Education and Skills Training Dean, Prof. Apollo Mambiar, described the flexible nature of their current programs. Additionally, Center for Culture and Arts Director, Mr. Wovi Villanueva shared the students’ participation in the performing arts.
The visitors were impressed of the university’s efficiency in accommodating a large number of students. Their visit concluded with a tour focusing on the engineering laboratories and equipment.
