ISDNB conducts seminar with Global Peace Foundation

16 March 2024 – The Institute for Social Development and Nation Building – NSTP, in partnership with Global Peace Foundation Philippines (GPFP) organized One Korea Global Campaign (OKGC) and Peacebuilding Initiatives Orientation Seminar.

The Civil Welfare Training  Service and Literacy Training Service, Program Head, Assoc. Prof. Eliza Barasi, gave her welcome remarks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker and the students who attended the seminar.

Then, GPFP’s Partnership Development Officer Ms. Sally Quimson, shared the context of the OKGC and Peacebuilding Initiatives and its goals.

Host OKGC and Peacebuilding Initiatives Coordinator Mr. Jay-Mar Javier, led the icebreaker where the participants sang and dance along.

Guest speaker, GPF-Asia Pacific Regional President, Mr. Ingil Ra explained the historical connection between Korea and Philippines, establishing a strong bond. He shared his admiration towards the late Senator Benigno Ninoy Aquino and his activism on his early years.

He also expressed his admiration with university’s hymn, showing the unification and dedication of all students and faculty members.

Mr. Ra ended his lecture challenging the attendees to take a risk in building a nation that can benefit all humanity.

Mr. Javier introduced the Global PeaceBuilders Program and stated its steps and visions, encouraging everyone especially the youth. He then led the pledge of the Peace builders.

In his closing remarks, Student Services and Community Development Vice President, Mr. Virgilio Tabbu stressed to embrace peace and put it into action.

The seminar ended with a group photo with Mr. Ra and GPF’s volunteers.
