The Filipino Culture and Traditions were conspicuous at UMak’s Timpalak Tagakan 2023

“Timpalak Tagakan 2023”, the community-collaborative project spearheaded by the College of Arts and Letters – Filipino Department, and Student Services and Community Development – Center for Culture and the Arts, in cooperation with the Human Resources Management Office, officially commenced as part of the month-long celebration of 123rd Civil Service Anniversary, which was held last September 14, 2023, at the University of Makati Track and Oval Field.

This festive cultural event aims to cultivate cultural literacy and intensify the appreciation of the Filipino to our traditions through incorporating performing arts.

UMak students and employees proudly represented their colleges and showed their beautiful costumes and electrifying moves in street dancing.

Some of the invited judges and guests were prominent individuals from the media industry namely: actress and beauty queen, Ms. Patricia Javier, Director Jo Macasa, Director Mio Infante, Manager Lhelm Precioso, and a representative of Councilor Ichi Yabut from the Museum Cultural Affairs Office.
