Tropical Disease Foundation with Makati Health Department conduct a lecture at UMak
In an effort to bolster awareness and preparedness for the upcoming “Light It Makati” event focusing on HIV-related activities, the Tropical Disease Foundation, in collaboration with the Makati City Health Department, recently organized a comprehensive HIV Awareness Lecture. The informative session took place at the OVPSSCD Conference Room within the University of Makati campus on May 10, 2024.
The event aimed to upskill the counselors and associates of Center for Guidance and Counseling Services, professors from Department of Psychology, and student leaders from the Center for Student Organizations and Activities. The primary objective of the lecture was to equip members of the UMak community with evidence-based knowledge and pertinent data concerning HIV, covering essential topics such as counseling, testing, treatment, and general awareness.
The lecture served as a crucial initiative in preparing attendees for the forthcoming “Light It Makati” event, which will encompass a series of activities centered around HIV education and support services.
The collaborative effort between the Tropical Disease Foundation, Makati City Health Department, and the University of Makati underscores a proactive approach towards addressing public health concerns and fostering a well-informed community regarding HIV prevention and care.
