UMak’s Center for Guidance and Counseling Undergoes Exciting Transformation to Enhance Student Support

In a groundbreaking move, the Center for Guidance and Counseling at the University of Makati (UMak) has taken significant strides under its new director to bolster student support and promote a safe and nurturing environment within the UMak community.

The revamped center is set to embark on a multifaceted approach to engage and assist students through various initiatives.

1. Strengthened Awareness Campaign

The center has reinforced its awareness campaign by forging partnerships with different centers and colleges, aiming to broaden the dissemination of crucial information. This strategic collaboration seeks to reach a wider audience and ensure that students are well-informed about the available support services.

2. Restructuring for Accessibility

Undergoing a comprehensive restructuring, the center has now established designated points of contact for its various services. This effort is designed to streamline accessibility and facilitate easier communication for students seeking assistance.

3. Collaborative Programs

The center is actively engaging with different centers to implement a series of innovative programs aimed at enhancing the overall well-being of UMak students. These collaborations aim to address various aspects of student life and provide comprehensive support.

A central focus of the center’s mission is to promote safe spaces for everyone within the UMak community. This includes fostering an environment where students feel comfortable seeking guidance and support without judgment.

Webinars, based on the results of a thorough needs assessment, are in the pipeline. These webinars will serve as a platform to address specific concerns and provide valuable insights to the UMak community.

CGCS Counselors and Coordinators are engaged in a collaborative brainstorming session to discuss the necessary programs that can address identified gaps, leveraging the insights gathered from the needs assessment results.

With these transformative measures, the UMak Center for Guidance and Counseling Services is poised to become a cornerstone of student support, fostering a holistic and nurturing environment for the entire UMak community.
