CGCS attends the 8th Provincial Assembly of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association – Cavite Chapter
6 April 2024 – Center for Guidance and Counseling Services attended the 8th Provincial Assembly of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, Cavite Chapter, at St. Dominic College of Asia, Bacoor City, Dasmariñas. The theme was “Strengthening Voices, Bridging Gaps: The Innovative Filipino Counselors in Diverse Settings.”
CGCS Director Ryan Villanueva, and Guidance Coordinators, Ms. Ma. Romanita de Borja, and Ms. Estella Obnamia participated in the assembly. The event aimed to discuss new trends and current research findings in the field of counseling. This also intended to establish new connections and networks among RGCs and Guidance Coordinators in the region.
The conference convened counseling professionals to delve into a spectrum of relevant topics, fostering enriched understanding and practice. Discussions encompassed family systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). They also tackled topics about counseling LGBTQIA individuals, mindfulness practices, and the evolving landscape of AI in counseling.
Through these sessions, attendees gained insights and strategies to navigate diverse therapeutic contexts, empowering them to provide effective support and stay attuned to emerging trends in mental health care.
