Dress Code and Wearing of Academic Regalia

While graduation ceremonies vary across cultures, UMak’s graduation is traditionally formal and solemn. Graduates are expected to dress accordingly.

  • Wear black, closed-toe shoes with low heels. Expect to stand for an extended period; hence we caution you to prioritize comfort over style in your choice of footwear.

Graduation Song & Lyrics

My Time – Khimo Gumatay

VERSE 1
All those times
I just cry and hide
Makes me work much harder

All of the fighting
All of the pain
Makes me that much stronger

I’ll climb that mountain

CHORUS
And show you it’s my time
It’s my time to shine
With you as my guide
I fear no pain

I’ll reach for the skies
I will learn to fly
I’ll be strong
I’ll be brave

I’ll make waves
It’s my time

VERSE 2
Didn’t come this far
Just to quit in the rain
There’s a rainbow there just waiting

I’m not afraid
I know you’re with me each day
Oh your love is my safe place

You’re always by my side

CHORUS
It’s my time
It’s my time to shine
With you as my guide
I fear no pain

I’ll reach for the skies
I will learn to fly
I’ll be strong
I’ll be brave

I’ll make waves
It’s my time

BRIDGE
Through all of the burdens and hurting (It’s my time)
I’ll always keep breathing, believe it (It’s my time)
No matter how long it takes
I’ll find my way

CHORUS
It’s my time
It’s my time to shine
With you as my guide
I fear no pain

I’ll reach for the skies
I will learn to fly
And I’ll be strong
And I’ll be brave

And I’ll make waves
And I’ll make waves
And I’ll make waves

It’s my time
It’s my time
It’s my time
It’s my time
