On July 10, 2023, the UMAK Kids’ Summer Development Program commenced with the parade of participants at the UMAK Track and Field Oval. As a project of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), in partnership with the Center for Athletic Development (CAD), and the Office of the Vice President of Student Services and Community Development (OVPSSCD), the program is a way of giving back to the faculty and employees for their dedicated service to the University.

The initiative shall provide free sports training activities for the children of UMAK faculty and employees. With the objective of nurturing the love for sports among the youth and encouraging a more active and healthy lifestyle, the program hopes to make the children’s summer vacations more enjoyable and productive.

The month-long program will not only introduce participants to fundamental skills in different disciplines, but it will also help foster values, such as sportsmanship and camaraderie among them. In bringing together young and spirited participants, the UMak Kids’ Summer Development Program promises an exciting and impactful summer experience.
